Cruising Cherry Creek State Park one sunny summer morning I spotted a group of photographers set up with the tripods and gimbals right in front of a big thistle patch. Seems that American Goldfinches, Downy Woodpeckers, and House Finches love thistle, and sure enough after awhile they arrived and started devouring this nasty weed. Learn something new every day.
